Mandalay Bay CC Set to Add 350,000 Square Feet of Exhibit Space alt

The Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas already boasts 1.7 million square feet, and now it’s set to add another 350,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, as well as more underground parking and carpeted ballroom space.

The $66 million expansion project will allow Mandalay Bay to grow current shows, pursue new and larger corporate partners and achieve greater utilization of the entire facility, according to venue officials.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ CONEXPO-CON/AGG sprawled over the Las Vegas Convention Center campus March 4 -8 beating even the most optimistic expectations.

The triennial event took more than 2.35 million net square feet of exhibit space, featured some 2,400 exhibitors and attracted close to 130,000 attendees. Hanley Wood Exhibitions’ World of Concrete just wrapped up in Las Vegas and not only did the show fare well, but also the mobile game app made specifically for it – Rig Racin’ – scored a whopping 100,000-plus downloads.

Game players had the opportunity to steer mixer trucks through three action-packed, challenging game-play environments.

For two weeks every December, more than 175,000 attendees flock to Las Vegas to take part in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, and not that event has signed on to stay in the city through 2024.

The agreement was made between after unanimous votes by the Las Vegas Events Board of Trustees and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Board of Directors.

From wearables to robots to driverless cars, the Consumer Electronic Association's 2014 International CES, the world's largest tech event, delivered impressive amount of innovation Jan. 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and other venues around the city.
