Messe Dsseldorf Partners with Chinese Tourism Industry Company

December 10, 2012

Messe Düsseldorf, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and the China National Travel Service Group Corporation recently signed a cooperation agreement.

As a result, Messe Düsseldorf is the first and only German trade fair organizer to work together with a Chinese partner in the tourism industry, according to company officials.

CTS has considerable resources in tourism, including vacation complexes, travel agencies and its own magazine, according to Messe Düsseldorf officials. It also is one of the largest campsite operators in China.

By 2015, it will have set up more than 50 camping and RV sites in the country. Together, with its subsidiary SINOTRANS, CTS has expertise in the import and export of goods to and from China.

“The new joint venture will make it much easier for our customers to access the Chinese market,” said Werner M. Dornscheidt, president & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

At the same time, this cooperation and the CTS network will help to attract visitors to events in both China and Düsseldorf, Germany.

“It is a consistent part of our strategy to develop international markets with high-level local partners for our exhibitors and visitors and to also achieve positive effects for our own events,” Dornscheidt said.

He added, “CTS is one of the biggest players in the Chinese tourism industry and therefore a most valued partner for our RV segment.”

New formats will be developed for the Chinese events sector. The first jointly organized event will be ALL IN CARAVANNING CHINA 2013.

“CTS will use our experience in the industry to help them expand its leading position in this segment in China,” Dornscheidt said.

The first staging of ALL IN CARAVANNING was held in August 2012 in Beijing. More than 150 exhibitors presented mobile homes, RVs and off-road vehicles as well as racing cars, concept cars, car tuning, customized vehicle construction and accessories on 215,200 square feet of exhibit space.

This event already was a collaborative effort between CTS and Messe Düsseldor.f and the two partners will now continue their partnership with the new joint venture.

“We're already planning a joint conference for the next exhibition, ALL IN CARAVANNING 2013,” Dornscheid said. The two companies also plan to develop joint activities for CTS campsites.
