In 2008, European show organizer EUROVET bought a 30-percent stake in CURVExpo, a show for designer lingerie, men's underwear and swimwear In North America, and more recently, it sealed the deal by buying the other 70-percent stake of the company.


CURVE xpo was launched in 2007 by co-founders Jean-Luc Teinturier and Laurence Teinturier and is held in New York and Las Vegas.


Since its inception, the show has grown so fast there now are four shows annually, two each for the West and East Coast markets.

Last week, Kazuhiro Tsuga was named incoming president of Panasonic Corporation during their general meeting of shareholders in Osaka, Japan, and the same day, the Consumer Electronic Association announced Tsuga will be the opening keynote speaker at the 2013 International CES.


The show is on tap Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and several venues around the city.

Hong Kong-listed Pico Far East Holdings has announced interim results for the six months ended 30th April 2012. The company’s turnover was US$233 million, an increase of 30 percednt, compared with the same period in 2011. Profit attributable to owners of the company in the period was US$12 million, a growth of 13 percdent year-on-year. Dilute earnings per share in the six-month period were HK$0.0765.

More years ago than I care to admit I spent a summer in Europe during college as part of an international media studies program. Six weeks. Two courses. Four countries.  Priceless life and educational experience.


The first city we visited was London. U.K.-based ITE Group has announced the acquisition of the Breakbulk series of exhibitions and media from AXIO Data in a deal brokered by Mayfield Media Strategies.

Breakbulk events serve the transport and logistics market for large-scale project equipment. They are held annually in Houston, Antwerp, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Istanbul and Sao Paulo. 

The acquisition also includes a print and digital magazine with expanded industry coverage along with exhibition websites that serve the global breakbulk community.
