ICUEE 2015, Pack Expo Las Vegas Both Break Attendance, Exhibit Space and Number of Exhibitor Records

October 5, 2015

Last week was a good one for two different shows – ICUEE 2015, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, and Pack Expo Las Vegas – both of which broke not only attendance records, but also exhibit space and number of exhibitor records as well.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ biennial ICUEE 2015 was the largest ever, with more than 18,000 registered attendees, 13-percent bigger than the previous show.

The 2015 event ran Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

“This was our most comprehensive ICUEE ever, and there was tremendous enthusiasm and interaction among attendees and exhibitors from Day 1, when the official Kentucky Derby bugler opened the show,” said Show Director Sara Truesdale Mooney.

She added, “Attendees found more companies, product innovations and product demos – plus quality networking with industry experts and peers that really increased the value of the show."

Registrants came from all 50 states, nine of the 10 Canadian provinces and more than 60 other countries worldwide.

The 2015 show also set records for exhibit space and number of exhibitors. More than 950 exhibitors, including more than 250 companies new to the show, took more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space to showcase their latest equipment and product innovations, as well as conduct numerous live demonstrations and hands-on opportunities.

ICUEE also is known as The Demo Expo and is the largest event for the utility industry. The show brings together industry professionals to gain comprehensive insights into the latest technologies, innovations and trends affecting their industry.

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, reported that preliminary data for PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2015 and the collocated Pharma EXPO, held Sept. 28-30 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, shows a 4 percent increase in attendance, compared with the record PACK EXPO Las Vegas set in 2013.

The event welcomed nearly 29,000 attendees and included the Las Vegas debut of Pharma EXPO, a joint venture between PMMI and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).

Registrants came to see 2,006 exhibiting companies in 844,510 net sq. ft. of exhibit space, both records for PACK EXPO Las Vegas, and experienced a processing and packaging event like no other.

“Technologies and applications often apply across a range of industries, and the sheer scale of our show fosters manufacturers’ ability to make the connections that lead to true innovation. That phenomenon really sets the PACK EXPO shows apart,” said Jim Pittas, vice president, PMMI.

He added, “The power of PACK EXPO brands continues to show consistent growth and provide solid returns for the attendees and exhibitors who support the show.”
