Singapore trade shows BroadcastAsia and CommunicAsia are set to expand beyond its previous edition in 2010 as organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), expects more than 2,000 exhibitors to attend the shows. This year’s edition of CommunicAsia will be relocated to the Marina Bay Sands, while BroadcastAsia remains at Suntec Singapore in a split venue format. A free shuttle service will be organised for transportation between the venues. Computex Taipei, Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest ICT show, was held May 31-June 4 at the Taipei World Trade Center, Nangang Exhibition Hall and the Taipei International Convention Center. Organised by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the event reported a total of 120,000 visitors. Computex hit a new high in terms of international visitors – just more than 36,000, up 3.1 percent compared with last year’s edition. Reed Exhibitions India has set opening dates for its inaugural event, SITL India 2012, Feb. 23-25 next year. The All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), an annual trade show held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, is expecting to fill an additional exhibition hall this year during its 13th edition. The event is jointly organised by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and APLF, a joint venture between UBM Asia and SIC Group. UBM Asia (Thailand) has announced the launch of the inaugural Food processing and Packaging Asia 2011 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to take place alongside the 7th edition of Food ingredients Asia (Fi Asia). Both events will run Sept. 21-23. Fi Asia will be co-organised with the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand, National Food Institute, the Federation of Thai Industries and Thai Food Processors’ Association. The 38th edition of the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO) was held April 27-30 at Taipei’s Nangang Exhibition Hall and featured a record 362 exhibitors. The event, which is organised by TAITRA, also hit a new high in terms of international exhibitors. Nearly 70 overseas exhibitors participated in TaiSPO, including sporting equipment firms from Germany, the U.K., South Korea and Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s 26th edition of the Hong Kong Gifts Premium Fair recorded attendance of more than 4,000 exhibitors during the event, which was held April 27-30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The four-day event, the largest of its kind in the industry, was held concurrently with the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair at AsiaWorld-Expo. Global Sources will partner with Infocom Network Limited, which operates a leading Indian online sourcing platform, TradeIndia.com.
