This week, the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), an annual international event for the leather industry, concluded at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The event is jointly organised by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and APLF, a joint venture between UBM Asia and SIC Group.

ACLE is concurrently held with the China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) and Moda Shanghai. Held from Sept. 6-8, the three fairs were spread across seven exhibition halls and featured 1,200 exhibitors in total – up 24 percent, compared with last year’s edition.

Categories featured at ACLE ranges from raw material of hides and skins, to semi-finished and finished leathers, chemicals and dyes, tanning machinery, to CAD/CAM systems and related software. Organisers reported a 10-percent increase from international participants. A total of 22 international pavilions were present including Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the U.S.

The next edition of the show will run from Sept. 4-6, 2012.
