UBM's June Jewellery Fair Sets New Record
The June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair concluded last month with new record attendance figures. Organised by UBM Asia, the show attracted a new record of 1,841 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, and more than 25,900 visitors from 113 countries and regions.
The four-day trade show took place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 20th to 23rd June 2013. UBM Asia reported the largest overseas visitor groups originated from mainland China (8,029), India (894), Taiwan (791), the Philippines (627), the U.S. (537), Japan (525), Thailand (525), Korea (462), Indonesia (372), Singapore (279) and Australia (277).
Celine Lau, UBM Asia’s Director of Jewellery Fairs, said, “The robust jewellery markets in Asia are filling some of the gap brought about by the weakness in the European and U.S. markets. This year, we again saw a double-digit growth in the number of buyers from the mainland China: 8,029, up about 15% from last edition. What was even more encouraging was the growth in visitor attendance from Vietnam, Ukraine and the Russian Federation of 104, 39 and 23%, respectively.”
The next edition of the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will take place at the HKCEC from 19th to 22nd June 2014.
