Resorts World Las Vegas Unveils New Convention Center Loop Passenger Station

July 14, 2022

Convention delegates staying at Resorts World Las Vegas now have a faster, greener and more convenient way to get to and from meetings and trade shows held at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Unveiled June 30, the new Las Vegas Convention Center Loop passenger station, located beneath the resort, provides direct underground access to the LVCC’s West station in just minutes via all-electric Tesla Model X and Model Y vehicles traveling at 35-40 miles per hour.

Created by Elon Musk’s The Boring Company, the Resorts World station is the fourth to be added to the LVCC Loop, an all-electric, zero-emissions, underground public transportation system that brings passengers directly to their destination with no stops along the way.

The new station will be one of more than 55 stops anticipated to form the Vegas Loop system, designed to eventually transport thousands of passengers per hour throughout the city’s resort corridor, thus easing traffic congestion and cutting carbon emissions. To be constructed in phases, the system will include the Resorts World Las Vegas passenger station, the LVCC Loop and future service extensions along the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas.

“In addition to offering our convention customers direct access to Resorts World’s world-class hospitality and entertainment, this milestone is an important step in the development of a game-changing transportation solution in Las Vegas,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

According to Resorts World officials, hours of operation for the new passenger station will vary based on the LVCC’s events and convention calendar.

“Today marks a monumental moment not only for our resort, but [also] for Las Vegas,” said Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas, during the station’s official unveiling.

He continued, “Our passenger station will make a visit to our resort from the Las Vegas Convention Center easier than ever, and eventually connect us to key destinations throughout the city. Resorts World Las Vegas strives to transform the way people experience Las Vegas, and this offering does just that. We are proud to partner with The Boring Company on what we believe to be the future of travel.”

As a tech-forward Strip resort that provides some of the city’s most advanced technology features, including cashless gaming, digital check-in and state-of-the-art LED technology, Resorts World’s partnership with The Boring Company further illustrates the property’s intention to integrate innovative technology throughout the entire guest experience, he added.

Opened in June 2021 and built on the former site of the iconic Stardust Resort and Casino, the $4.3 billion Resorts World Las Vegas complex features 3,506 guest rooms and suites, a next-generation casino, premium food and beverage offerings, a 5,000-capacity theater, nightlife venues, high-end retail outlets and 250,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
