Messe Duesseldorf Asia's TIPREX Event Scores 25-percent Exhibitor, Visitor Increases
TIPREX 2013, 4th Thai International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition, held recently in Bangkok, scored a 25-percent increase in not only exhibitor participation, but also visitors to the event.
Messe Duesseldorf Asia runs the biennial event that saw 6,200 trade visitors from 41 countries, as well as 250 exhibitors from 21 nations take part in the event.
TIPREX 2013 featured country group exhibits from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
“TIPREX 2013 has succeeded as a stand-alone trade exhibition, not only in the number of exhibitors but in the strong visitor turnout particularly from overseas,” said Gernot Ringling, managing director of Messe Duesseldorf Asia.
He added, “This certainly testifies TIPREX’s position as the epicentreto ASEAN’s dynamic plastics and rubber industries. The showfloor was alive with abundant business opportunities and sales transactions, with the unveiling of the latest machinery for the industry, most of which were sold on the trade floor. There were also many productive discussions leading to the conclusion of some of the most lucrative business transactions. This is certainly a bonus for a local exhibition like TIPREX which is a platform that is created for the industry by the industry.”
There was significant international attendance as well, with 30 percent of the visitors coming from overseas. The largest visitor participation was recorded from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
Exhibitors said they were pleased with the buyers who they interacted with on the showfloor.
“The visitors at our booth were exactly the people we were interested in - industry professionals and decision makers who come with specific questions and know what type of machine they are looking for,” said Shen Ho Yu, general manager assistant of C.S Machinery Co. Ltd.“We met about 30 potential customers and I am confident that some will lead to sales deals in the future. Compared to 2011, the visitors this year are a lot more targeted and of very good quality.”
Show organizers said they expect TIPREX to continue to increase in importance as ASEAN prepares for economic integration with the AEC in 2015.
“The plastics and rubber products industry is one of Thailand’s key secondary sectors in manufacturing, contributing about 2.5% of Thailand’s GDP,” said Yuttana Jiamtragan, chairman of Plastic Industry Club - The Federation of Thai Industries. “TIPREX represents a landmark trade fair for Thailand for both exhibitors and visitors alike as it is increasingly recognized as the country’s leading business platform for the region’s plastic and rubber sectors.”
TIPREX will again take place in September 2015 in Bangkok.
