Radiological Society of North America's Annual Meeting Taps Condoleezza Rice to Keynote
More than 50,000 attendees expected at the 99th Annual Radiological Society of North America’s Annual Meeting 2013 will have the opportunity to hear a keynote by former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
At the meeting, on tap Dec. 1-6 at McCormick Place in Chicago, among other topics, Rice will tackle some challenging healthcare questions, such as, how do we educate the students of tomorrow? And, how do we foster leadership among present and future practitioners?
Rice will offer her experiences in how resources can be identified, attracted and mobilized to solve problems and forge new paths for the benefit of people worldwide.
Rice now is the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Graduate School of Business and the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
She also is the founding partner of RiceHadleyGates LLC.
Some of the other lectures include Stem Cells: Implications for the Radiological Sciences by Dr. Irving L. Weissman; Beneficial Liaisons: Imaging and Therapy by Dr. Paul M. Harari and Imaging in Partnership: With Physics andQuantitative Medicine by Dr. James E. Deye.
“As in years past, the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) 2013 scientific assembly and annual meeting offers its attendees myriad opportunities to learn about the latest in radiologic scientific research, update their continuing medical education credits, view the latest in imaging technologies, network with their peers, and more,” said Tom Shimala, director of technical exhibits.
He added, “RSNA’s lineup of plenary speakers comprises extraordinary, world-renowned leaders covering a wide range of compelling topics to interest our diverse audience.
There are several other educational activities in store:
Image Interpretation Session: Attendees will have the opportunity to watch top radiology experts, as they’re presented with challenging cases and make diagnoses on the spot.
Residents and Fellows Symposium: Designed for trainees, these Wednesday sessions will help attendees plan for success after residency and teach them “survival skills” for their job.
Cases of the Day: Attendees will have the opportunity to submit a diagnoses each day for these highly popular cases, challenging their colleagues and earning continuing education credit.
RSNA/ESR Emergency Symposium: This partnered session shows attendees general applications of emergency radiology, focusing on pediatric, CNS, chest and abdominal emergencies.
RSNA Diagnosis Live: Attendees can bring their mobile device and go head-to-head with their colleagues all week in these entertaining, fast-paced game sessions.
“Additionally, on the exhibit floor, we will give our medical professionals a chance to see and learn about a variety of medical equipment and devices being offered up by over 650 companies from around the world. Highlights on our 2013 show floor include: Exhibitor Product Theater, five Country Pavilions*, and three Vendor Workshops where radiologists and other healthcare professionals will find hands-on learning experiences,” Shimala said.
