epIQ and rooom Partner to Bring the Metaverse to Associations and Events

August 5, 2022

As event professionals continue to contemplate how the metaverse can bring unique new opportunities to the industry, two companies have teamed up to do just that. epIQ Creative Group, a demand generation marketing agency creating multi-channel systems that drive demand to brands, and rooom Enterprise Metaverse Solutions are aiming to help associations and event professionals unlock the potential of the metaverse and bring marketable experiences to their communities and audiences.

The new partnership is designed to bring to life exciting opportunities that year-round communities and virtual and hybrid events, including association shows, trade shows, exhibitions, conventions and corporate events, can benefit from.

"This is our first step of many into the world of immersing associations with the value communities create, both in-person and digitally," says Bill McGlade, president of epIQ. "rooom's platform is the most expansive metaverse solution I have seen, and its flexibility allows multiple customizations to personalize the user experience and make each mini-metaverse its own for the association [or event].”

rooom's expansive technology, offering a toolset to create, manage and market interactive experiences in 3D, augmented reality (AR) and visual reality (VR), immerses audiences in their own private metaverse community, where they can participate in events, network, search marketplaces, access useful resources and more. The myriad use cases with rooom’s digital experience technology includes marketing, sales, education, collaboration, events and entertainment. Meanwhile, suppliers have access to lead-generation opportunities through value creation within the metaverse community.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to introduce rooom to the association and events industries and provide members with added value,” said Bill Sweeney, rooom’s director of business development in North America. “With epIQ’s expansive knowledge of the industry, we will be able to provide the pivotal building blocks to create communities in the metaverse.”

Sweeney added, “Now is the time to start creating a content strategy for the metaverse, and we are excited to help associations [and events] with their digital transformation. The future is 3D!”

Through the Feeding Forward Program, MGM Resorts collects and preserves unserved and untouched food from conventions held at its properties, then safely donates to food-insecure people through a partnership with Three Square, Southern Nevada’s primary food bank. Since 2016, MGM Resorts has donated more than 3.7 million meals, with a goal of 5 million meal donations by 2025. Donations include unserved perishable prepared foods from events, perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens and nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses.
