IAEE to Launch Tech AV Experience at Expo! Expo!

November 27, 2018

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has partnered with AVIXA and PSAV to present the Tech AV Experience at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition, set for Dec. 11-13 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Focused on how audio/visual can be applied to increase attendee ROI, this series of showfloor education experiences will zero in on AV-related content for trade show professionals.

“This is the first time we have featured AV-focused learning experiences at Expo! Expo!,” said David DuBois, president and CEO of IAEE, known as the world’s largest association of the exhibitions and events industry. “We are excited to partner with IAEE member AVIXA and major show partner PSAV to bring this unique opportunity to Expo! Expo! attendees.”

The Expo! Expo! Tech AV Experience will feature multiple offerings of the following presentations:

Thinking Outside the Booth: Exhibit AV Trends to Try Now (Presented by PSAV):

With so many exhibit booths vying for attention, how do you attract the right attendees? Multi-sensory tools have the power to build engagement and form meaningful connections. Learn how turning your booth into an “experience” can stimulate parts of the brain responsible for pleasure and reward in order to promote positivity towards your brand.

In this session, Chris McCafferty, director of production for Exhibits and Specialty Events at PSAV, will cover mixed reality, lighting techniques, color and other Exhibit AV best practices.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in multi-sensory ‘experiences’ for the trade show floor,” said Roy Benear, PSAV Premier Global Events vice president of Exhibits + Specialty Events. “Through new technology and clever use of more traditional AV, there really is a lot that you can do to drive your content home and leave a positive impression with attendees.”

He continued, “Visiting the Expo! Expo! Tech AV Experience is going to be the perfect way to demo these experiential tools. All Expo! Expo! attendees are invited to drop by for a free consultation and get inspired through AV.”

Center Stage – Show Floor Presentation Area as Technology R&D Department (Presented by AVIXA):

In 2018, InfoComm consolidated all of its showfloor presentation stages into a single marquee theater: Center Stage. This allowed Center Stage to become a playground for both program content and presentation technologies. Center Stage has experimented with VR, assistive listening, live telepresence, robotic cameras, giant LEDs and kinetic chandeliers. Join this session for an honest exchange about what has been tried, what’s worked, what hasn’t and what’s being tried next.

Visual Standards for a Better Attendee Experience (Presented by AVIXA):

A picture is worth a thousand words – and if your presentation images are illegible, all of them will be swears. Learn how introducing visual system performance standards into your event AV setups can ensure a better attendee experience. Get the resources you need to request and verify the results you require.

“As a long-time member of IAEE, AVIXA is proud to support the continuing education of industry professionals by sharing best practices for the delivery of quality audio-visual experiences at expositions and events,” said Dan Goldstein, AVIXA senior vice president of Content & Communications.
