Cosmoprof Asia Has a 10-percent Attendee Increase at Recent Exhibition
Cosmoprof Asia, a global beauty event held in November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, posted impressive numbers, with a 10-percent increase in attendance, compared with last year’s event.
The show is organized by Cosmoprof Asia Ltd, a joint venture company between UBM Asia Ltd and BolognaFiere Group.
"Cosmoprof Asia continues to win accolades from both buyers and suppliers as an excellent forum for business and knowledge,” said Michael Duck, executive vice president of UBM Asia Ltd.
He added, “It has become the must-attend event in the Asia Pacific region for the global beauty industry. We look forward to delivering an even better Cosmoprof Asia in 2014.”
Here are some of the numbers from the show:
· 60,985 visitors (up 10 percent, compared with 2012) with growth in overseas visitor numbers including the USA (+10 percent) and European countries such as Germany (+27 percent), Italy (+19 percent) and Spain (+23 percent), together with emerging Asia Pacific markets including India (+74 percent), Malaysia (+21 percent) and Vietnam (+12 percent). The number of visitors from Israel and UAE also registered double-digit growth.
· 76,200 square meters of exhibition area (up 3 percent, compared with 2012)
· 2,168 exhibitors (up 10 percent, compared with 2012) from 43 countries and regions
· 22 country and group pavilions which include the largest-ever Korean pavilion – a collection of 190 companies in skincare, make-up, nail, personal care, formulation and packaging solutions.
Exhibitors reported strong results and were impressed by the business opportunities in Asia.
"It's important to highlight that beauty in Asia has always been perceived differently from Western countries. But today two different regions of beauty come close, thanks to Cosmoprof Asia. Cosmoprof Asia could blend the value from East based on harmony and essential with the western design, creating new visions at the very end a new market," said Romualdo Priore, executive marketing director of Chromavis/Fareva Group, Italy.
“We come here because it is the biggest worldwide in which beauty experts from all five continents come to visit. We will definitely return next year as we meet the right buyers and also exciting clients for our business," said Joanne Mazzitelli, international training director, THALGO Cosmetics, France.
A new section of the show was "Nail & Accessories" that was ocated at the Grand Hall & Foyer and presented 128 exhibiting companies.
It was complemented by the "International Nail Days", a 3-day program carried out at the Grand Foyer main stage.
