TCEB Launches New Activity to Promote MICE Industry

The Thailand Incentive and Meeting Exchange (TIME) 2016, organised by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), took place in Bangkok and Phuket from 16th to 21st August. Focused on the Chinese market, the inaugural event consisted of three activities: a knowledge exchange, a business exchange and an experience exchange.

The TIME Knowledge Exchange was an educational forum held in Bangkok where Chinese industry players were invited to talk about conducting MICE business activities in China. More than 150 Thai MICE industry professionals attended the forum including representatives from hotels, venues, event organisers and airlines.

The Business Exchange was a business matching session in which 40 Chinese buyers met with more than 80 Thai MICE suppliers. The last activity, the Experience Exchange featured a four-day trip to Phuket which aimed to boost the profile of Phuket as a MICE destination.

According to TCEB, China is the largest MICE source market for Thailand. In 2015, nearly 110,000 business visitors from China participated in the MICE events in Thailand, generating over US$277 million in revenue.

The projects will debut in 2023 and beyond. JW Marriott This new, 15-story, 283-room hotel will open in the heart of the city’s downtown Arts District this year. InterContinental Dallas  Located in Cityplace Tower in Uptown, InterContinental Dallas will feature sweeping panoramic views of the Dallas skyline. Guests will enjoy spacious, high-end rooms and amenities, including more than 21,000 square feet of event space.   Hotel Swexan Hotel Swexan, a new, 22-story luxury property, is rising in Uptown’s Harwood District and will make its mark on the Dallas skyline.
