January 29, 2014

Kicking off the beginning of the year, several companies snagged new or renewed business contracts.

Global Experience Specialists signed a multi-year agreement with the Los Angeles Auto Show as its official services and electrical provider. GES also was selected to provide audio visual services.

“After an extensive competitive review, we are excited to continue our growing business partnership with GES as the Show’s official services provider,” said General Manager of the LA Auto Show Terri Toennies.

She added, “We look forward to strengthening our existing relationship and working more directly with one of the thought leaders in the service and exhibits industry.”

The LA Auto Show covers more than 870,000 square feet and features top manufacturers in the auto industry. The show’s three trade days draw more than 16,000 auto-industry decision makers and influencers, including more than 4,000 media from 58 countries.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the LA Auto Show to produce this exciting and influential annual event,” said GES President Steve Moster. “Our team looks forward to providing the LA Auto Show team and their clients with excellent operational execution, award-winning customer service and cutting edge audio visual communication.”

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has signed a three-year agreement, which will see Ungerboeck Software International Inc. become UFI’s dedicated Software Partner.

Ungerboeck’s quality event management system will be applied to all UFI events through May 2017.

Paul Woodward, UFI managing director, said, “UFI has had a good working relationship with the Ungerboeck team for many years, so we are delighted to extend this to a new level of collaboration. UFI’s eight events around the world each year are critical to delivering the networking benefits that our members so value. So, it is vital that they are managed with state of the art systems such as those, which we will use as a result of this new partnership.”

At the partnership agreement signing, Thorsten Kolbinger, Ungerboeck managing director EMEA, added, "Ungerboeck has been working with exhibition and tradeshow organizers around the world for over 15 years. UFI has really helped us connect with exhibition leaders and I am personally thrilled that we now have a chance to work even more closely with such an important industry ally."

Smart City Networks renewed contracts with Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC).

“We’re proud to have earned the confidence of these two premier facilities to continue offering quality technology services, including the most advanced and reliable networks to keep their events and visitors connected,” said Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks.

He added, “We are committed to working with our partner facilities to meet the growing and changing technology needs of the event industry, including the always increasing demand for Wi-Fi connectivity.”

Smart City has overseen the technology and telecommunications services at the VBCC since January 2011, and has been awarded a one-year contract extension.

The provider at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center for the past five years, Smart City has earned a two-year contract extension at the venue, with additional terms extending through Sept. 30, 2019.
