Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Launches iPhone App

December 4, 2011

To celebrate the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre’s 25th anniversary, the venue launched a downloadable, free of charge HKCEC iPhone app.

The HKCEC app is a user-friendly tool that offers comprehensive news and information about the venue in three languages:  English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

For the free download, iPhone users should visit the iTunes App Store and enter the keyword “HKCEC” or “Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre”, or simply scan an available QR code and go direct to the HKCEC app download page in the iTunes App Store.

“We are proud and excited to be one of the first exhibition venues in the region to offer this new communication channel.” Monica Lee-Müller, Deputy Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management). “The HKCEC app now puts information about the HKCEC and its events right at the fingertips of our users and visitors.”

She added, “This new initiative is part of HML’s commitment to continuously enhancing our services and caters directly to the increasing population of smartphone users in Hong Kong and worldwide.”

One important feature of the HKCEC app is its “Event Calendar”, which lists major upcoming exhibitions, conferences and special events at the HKCEC.

Users also can search by date, nature of event or keyword and instantly add the event to their own iPhone calendar. This feature also gives organizers an additional cost-free channel for promoting their events.

Overseas visitors coming to the HKCEC can use the “Transportation” function to get directions to the HKCEC from Hong Kong International Airport and other key locations.

Also available in the HKCEC app is a “Where to Eat” function, which lists the different restaurants at the HKCEC, with their locations and floorplans, making it easy for visitors to make their dining choices in advance.

The HKCEC app also posts the latest “Announcements”, providing HKCEC users with real-time updates in a convenient form. The app also includes other useful functions titled “Floor Plan”, “About HKCEC”, “My Tools”, “Tips” and “Contact Us”, all accessible using specially designed icons.
