Pico Thailand has announced its full year financial results ended 31st October 2016. The company reported total revenue of US$40 million, up by 12% year-on-year. The business was driven by growth of event marketing business from new customers and more marketing-budget spending from the existing customers. The company posted a net profit of US$1.02 million in the year, dropped 48% from the previous year. The decrease in profit was due to the increase in cost of rendering services of Exhibition and Museum Exhibit business as well as the increase in expenses the selling and administrative.… more

International exhibition organiser, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH announced its Chinese subsidiaries, Messe Düsseldorf China and Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, have achieved record breaking year in show results in 2016. In China, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai organised 13 trade shows and conferences in the year, occupying a gross area of 500,000 m2. A total of 7,325 national and international exhibitors showcased their products at these shows, attracting more about 331,000 visitors. History was made today when Hainan Airlines’ first flight from Beijing to Las Vegas touched down at McCarrran International Airport filled with excited Chinese travelers, media and company officials. Last week, ITE Group plc’s subsidiary, ITE Asia Exhibitions Limited, announced that the company had received approval from the Chinese Government to complete the acquisition of a 70% stake in Shanghai Gehua. The initial consideration payable for the transaction is £9.2 million (US$11.5 million) – with £5.7 million (US$7.1 million) in cash and about 2.3 million ordinary shares. Attendee registration was an incredibly manual and time-consuming process back in 1986 when Doug Fletcher saw the need to modernize it. So, he created Convention Data Services to benefit show management, exhibitors and attendees. Fletcher worked with a business partner who built the software that eventually led to the CDS registration platform.
