The RELX Group (formerly Reed Elsevier) released its financial results for the year ended 31st December 2018. Total revenues were £7.5 billion (US$9.5 billion), representing an underlying increase of 4%. Adjusted operating profit increased by 6% to £2.3 billion (US$3.0 billion). Its exhibitions business generated revenues of £1.2 billion (US$1.5 billion), representing underlying revenue growth of 6%. Tourism Australia’s Business Events Bid Fund Programme (BFP) has reportedly doubled the value of business events secured in Australia in the past three months reaching A$187 million (US$134 million). Since the launch of the BFP in July 2018, a total of 14 new events have been confirmed for Australia. In a development for China’s textile care market, it’s been announced that the upcoming edition of the new TXCA & CLE show, an international trade fair for textile laundry, leather care, cleaning technology and equipment, will be held Sept. 25-27 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China.
