A new report from UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, predicts that a comeback is in the offing for trade shows. Having polled 457 companies in 64 countries and 29 different regions, UFI lays claim to its research being the industry’s gold standard. Exhibitors as well as planners and organizers can only hope the association’s report is right on target. Trying to serve as a guiding light in a challenging period, PCMA brought together more than 3,000 attendees in an unusual experience befitting the COVID era. His proposed solutions, and their effectiveness, is surely how the first part of his presidency will be measured. The first fully virtual CES put the spotlight on nearly 2,000 technology companies to see how the future is unfolding. Associations Cheer Stimulus Package, Seek Further Aid

As of Sunday night, associations across the travel and hospitality world were able to celebrate a stimulus package to boost the U.S. economy’s recovery from the pandemic. The show for shows lived up to its billing, even if it looked different from past years. Expo! The U.S Travel Association has agreed to partner with Connect Travel for a multi-event trade show in Las Vegas, set for Sept. 12-22, 2021. The centerpiece of the event will be USTA’s flagship IPW travel trade show, which will collocate with Connect Tour, Connect THRIVE LGBTQ Summit and eTourism Summit. PCMA has acquired the Corporate Event Marketing Association, the premier community for event marketers, as a new, wholly-owned division.   The deal between the two organizations was signed after CEMA members voted overwhelmingly in favor of the acquisition.
