We at TSNN can probably speak for a lot of event industry professionals when we say “good riddance 2021!” with perhaps more gusto than in past years (other than the dumpster fire that was 2020, of course).

Global trade show organizer Montgomery Group has teamed up with Exposition Development Company (ExpoDevCo) to expand the Independent Hotel Show, which has successful editions in London and Amsterdam, into the North American market. Set for Nov. 2-3, 2022 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Independent Hotel Show Miami will connect independent, boutique and luxury hoteliers with quality, handpicked suppliers from the U.S. and abroad.

ASM Global announced a new name for the 723,000-square-foot convention center that it has managed in downtown Detroit since 2010. Formerly named Cobo Center, then TCF Center after TCF Bank purchased the naming rights for the facility in 2019, the venue is now known as Huntington Place. The new name comes after the recent merger between TCF Financial Corp. and Huntington Bank.
According to Karen Totaro, general manager of Huntington Place/ASM Global, Huntington is a well-respected brand, and the timing of the new moniker could not be any better.

Tarsus Group has grown its portfolio of more than 180 trade shows worldwide even more with two new investments in the United States - FounderMade and Health Connect Partners (HCP).
These mark the latest in a busy year for the global B2B media company, which has completed six investments throughout 2021, while also reopening in-person events in the majority of its key territories.

This advancement doubles the frequency of data transmission, enabling lightning-fast speeds up to 9400% faster. The convention center now boasts 11 dynamic digital walls, spanning up to 24' x 13', strategically positioned for brand placements, sponsorships and targeted event messaging. Additionally, attendees can benefit from 20 double-sided 55" mobile flexible display units, facilitating effortless navigation to meeting rooms and events. RFID locks were installed on all meeting room doors, and over 200 motion detection cameras have been placed throughout the space.

The newly remodeled convention space provides a bright and vibrant atmosphere that complements Mandalay Bay's tropical-inspired brand. Featuring white-washed walls and ceilings adorned with bold floral patterns in cerulean and coral tones, the space is complemented by warm walnut accent walls. In addition to the redesign of all pre-function spaces, meeting rooms and ballrooms, Mandalay Bay's 1 million square feet of exhibit space has undergone a rejuvenation, including new paint, covered pillars and relocated strobe lights.
