From barbecue grills to solar filtration pumps and holiday decor, the newest products in outdoor living stole the spotlight at the Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo that took place Nov. 6-8 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
The show drew 10,202 attendees, a 5-percent increase, compared with 2011, marking the third consecutive year of attendance increase.

For the ninth quarter in a row, the trade show industry still is growing, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research’s latest CEIR Index, albeit at a slower rate in the third quarter of this year, with concerns over not only the looming fiscal cliff, but also the global economy.
The Total Index grew 0.9 percent in the third quarter, after the first quarter grew 3 percent and the second quarter grew 1.7 percent, and companies have become more conservative, waiting to see how everything plays out.

The first show in the United States to combine traditional and renewable energy sectors – VP International’s Total Energy USA – debuted Nov. 27-29 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, with an estimated 1,500 attendees.
Instead of representing one particular energy sector, Total Energy USA touched on several of them, such as fossil, nuclear, renewables and cross-cutting sectors like energy-efficiency.

Based in the U.K., with shows around the world, dmg :: events has decided to expand its footprint with a new division in the United States, naming industry veteran Michael Green president to run it.

In 2012, we saw Google, the dominant search engine; make some radical changes to its indexing and ranking policies. The focus has shifted, once and for all, from quantity to quality. RFID locks were installed on all meeting room doors, and over 200 motion detection cameras have been placed throughout the space.

Featuring white-washed walls and ceilings adorned with bold floral patterns in cerulean and coral tones, the space is complemented by warm walnut accent walls.
